New "This is Relevant to My Interests" Website Alert!

I am a bit of a Cold War fan.  Okay, "fan" sounds kind of wrong, so I'll say "junkie".  I find the public service announcements and propoganda deliciously creepy, and I've sworn (rather loosely, however) that I would aquire a radio with CONELRAD markings on it before I die.

That being said, I was browsing James Vaughan's Cold War blog (Atomic Annihilation) and he posted a link to a site that works with Google Maps that allows you to drop a selection of nuclear weapons onto a town of your choice and see the range of damage.

It's a handy tool that can help you prepare for disaster.  Alright, no it isn't, but I have to have some kind of excuse for why I'm having too much fun with it.

Here's the link:  Ground Zero

Is it a little too nerdy...

...that I'm obsessed with the NASA channel right now, and I'm procrastinating at work by watching their live feed of the shuttle being carried away after landing?  I think it is, but I was never one to worry about these things.

Calgary yes!

So the meeting is on for sure, and I'm hitting up Calgary in another week and a half.  Should be fun!

LEGO Ghostbusters Revisited

So a while ago I posted some grainy pictures of my LEGO Ghostbusters side project that I was working on.  I finally took some better ones of them (in their better uniforms) and their HQ, so here are some links to where I have the pics:

Calgary? Yes? No?

I've been waiting for this ever since I started working with the agents on the west side of the country.  A business trip to Calgary!  Okay, it's not a big deal for most people, but I'm pathetic when it comes to travel experience, and I've never been out of my own time zone so I'm looking forward to it.

Of course, I'm not going to get TOO excited about it, since everytime I do, nothing ever works out.  That, and the meeting itself is still tentative, but the outlook is good.
